Southee was one of a number of Black Caps who made late arrivals in England after playing in the Indian Premier League.

They've had their first training session at Lord's ahead of tomorrow night's first Test against England.

Southee says they're all used to making adjustments.

"I think just the way that cricket's played it's the way you have to adapt as a player these days."

"You go from a Twenty/20 to a one-dayer and then go from one-dayers to test matches so it's no different to what we're faced back home in a series it's just the fact we've come from different parts of the world so the hardest thing will be getting used to the cold (England) weather."

This will be Southee's third Test at Lord's... he's on the honours board there after taking 6 for 50 when the sides last met on the ground in 2013.... England won that match when New Zealand was skittled for 68 in their second innings.

New Zealand last won there in 1999.
