Southland have been crowned champions at the National netball champs in Rotorua.
They convincingly beat Auckland-Waitakere 56-45 in the final on Saturday to take the title.
The South Island side stamped their mark on the game from the outset, and led by 16 at half time.
Southland captain Wendy Telfer says it was an amazing effort from her side.
She says there were a number of factors that contributed to the win, among them passion.
Earlier, Otago claimed third place after beating North, and Canterbury defeated Waikato in the first grade promotion/relegation game.
