Work on the cycle way connecting Christchurch's central city and the University of Canterbury will begin this summer, Radio New Zealand reports.
The route is part of the Christchurch City Council's $68 million project to create 13 major cycle ways throughout the city.
The cycle way will provide a link through Hagley Park, connecting streets, and Ilam Road through to the university's campus.
