A man killed in a road crash on Motueka River Bridge early this morning has been named.
Benjamin Cecil Rhodes, 37, from Motueka, was the driver of a light van which crashed on State Highway 60 about 2am.
Two passengers were injured and are in Nelson Hospital in a stable condition.
Eight people have died on the roads since the official holiday period began at 4pm on Christmas Eve.
