11:45 am on 16 October 2002

The American Samoan governor, Tauese Sunia, says because of the current fuel shortage government-owned school buses will be used to transport the public.

The buses will be made available to the travelling public free of charge when they are not being used to transport students.

The fuel shortage is expected to ease later this week.
