Pasifika and Maori aged 55 and over in the Hutt Valley are getting their first dose of the Covid-19 Pfizer vaccine this week.
The first Pacific Festival Day for Wellington was held at the community vaccination centre at Queensgate in Lower Hutt.
More than 160 people were booked in for their jabs on Wednesday which is a good start for health authorities who are hoping to reach most of the over 5000 Pasifika people aged 55 and over living in the greater Wellington region.
I went along and spoke with some of the health professionals and people getting vaccinated.
