Auckland city mayoral candidate Efeso Collins, is blaming youth poverty and gang recruitment for the rise in crime carried out against retailers.
The raid early on Tuesday morning involved three stolen cars crashing through the Ormiston Town Centre and masked thieves grabbing goods from shops.
