The West Sepik governor in Papua New Guinea Amkat Mai says planned industrial parks in his province will create jobs and bring major infrastructure boosts.
Two Chinese companies - Shenzhen Vivafounders, and the Metallurgical Corporation of China - agreed to spend almost US $4 billion dollars to build two industrial parks in west Sepik.
One is to process timber products and other local natural resources; the other to process Chinese-sourced industrial products.
Mr Mai spoke to Johnny Blades about the project.
