Vanuatu is currently trialling drones as a way to transport childhood vaccines into remote areas early next year.

The government is working with commercial companies as well as UNICEF to develop the programme with trials recently at Takara village, North Efate, where community members, health workers and children saw the drones take to the sky for the first time.

UNICEF'S Pacific Representative, Sheldon Yett, spoke to Jenny Meyer from Vanuatu, about the initiative.
