An Auckland building company has launched an attack on Fletcher Building, accusing the construction giant of causing supply chain delays for Gib board.

Simplicity Living, which is owned by KiwiSaver provider Simplicity, has begun importing plasterboard from Thailand to use on a rent-to-build housing project.

Fletcher Building, controls 94 percent of the market for Gib, but Simplicity says it can get the product for 40 per cent less and it takes only eight weeks to arrive, rather than eight months.

Simplicity chief executive Sam Stubbs spoke to Corin Dann.
