Police have named the man who died while swimming at Pinders Pond in Central Otago yesterday.
He was 23-year-old Ehsan Bin Zakaria Muhammad - a Malaysian national living in Roxburgh.
Emergency services were called to Pinders Pond next to the Clutha River just after 7.30pm yesterday, after a person was reported missing.
Divers from the local search and rescue joined the search because the murky water was making search efforts difficult.
They recovered the body two hours later.
Muhammad's death will be referred to the Coroner.
