The Australian Government's signature initiative to boost long-term economic growth in the Pacific, the infrastructure financing facility, is now open for business.
Foreign Minister, Marise Payne, said the $US1.4 billion facility will support vital infrastructure projects to underpin sustainable economic growth in the Pacific and Timor Leste.
She said the Pacific has significant unmet demand for high-quality infrastructure that will help boost living standards.
Ms Payne said Australia's undertaken extensive outreach with regional governments to learn about their infrastructure requirements.
She said Canberra is now looking forward to hearing about specific proposals.
