A newly formed NGO, The Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji, or FEN-C-Fiji, is calling for volunteers and donors to help cater to the educational needs of children in the country.

Chairman of the Interim Organizing Committee, John Samy -- who is a former consultant to the the interim government --said the new NGO was an idea born out of the Charter Process.

Mr Samy, who headed the support team for the National Council for Building a Better Fiji, and helped develop the Charter, said the interim government had given the NGO US$106 thousand in seed money.

He told Fiji Live they will be writing to individuals and business houses as a way of financing the organisation.
