Man accused of road roller incident named

The Hutt Valley man accused of using a road roller to disrupt a gathering of boy racers has been named.

Patrick John Roil, 47, appeared in the Hutt Valley District Court this morning on two charges of excess blood alcohol and interfering with a vehicle with reckless disregard for people and property in the incident in July.

He has yet to enter a plea.

One person's leg was injured by another vehicle, and another person received facial injuries in an altercation.

A number of vehicles were also damaged.
