Malfunctions at hospital morgue on Samoa's Savaii

The family of a young man whose dead body was at the Malietoa Tanumafili II hospital mortuary in Savaii was forced to bury their son early after a refrigeration malfunction caused his body to decompose.

The family of a young man whose dead body was at the Malietoa Tanumafili II hospital mortuary in Savaii was forced to bury their son early after a refrigeration malfunction caused his body to decompose.

A source at the hospital confirmed to KHJ News that the problem was not discovered until Sunday evening.

That source also said a second body, that of a woman, was transferred to the only private mortuary on Savaii.
