A further three cases of measles have been identified in the Western Bay of Plenty since yesterday, bringing the total number confirmed in the wider region to 17 since the start of April.
The medical officer of health Phil Shoemack said one is known to have had contact with a previous patient.
He said health officials were working to identify people who may have been in contact with each case.
There have now been 105 confirmed cases of measles across the country this year.
