Kohanga reo hearing behind schedule

06:57 am on 16 March 2012

The Waitangi Tribunal hearing over the kohanga reo movement's call for a law change to give it self-management is running behind schedule.

The hearing started on Monday and will run until the end of next week.

So far hundreds of movement supporters from across the country have attended to hear the opening submissions.

A founding member of the movement, Peggy Luke-Ngaheke, says progress is being made to get back on track.
