With the Silver Ferns missing leading shooter Maria Tutaia it would follow that world champions Australia would fancy their chances even more in the four-Test series - but not so according to Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander.
Tuataia, who played such a crucial role in the Silver Ferns' World Cup campaign is taking an extended break from the game and has been replaced in the side by Ameliaranne Wells.
But rather than making their job easier, Alexander maintains it becomes more difficult as her defenders will have to adjust to a variety of New Zealand shooters in the circle.

"I'm expecting they'll probably share the duties there so it's actually more difficult to combat and it will be more difficult than ever," she said.
"There'll be change-ups which will be difficult to adjust to but that's up to us to be ready for those changes and adapt very quickly."
Alexander likened the Diamonds to the All Blacks, saying being world champions always makes a side a target.
"You guys (New Zealanders) appreciate it with the All Blacks, you're number one in the world, and everyone wants to chase you so we are very, very certain that we need to keep improving," said Alexander.

Despite missing Tutaia, veteran midcourter Laura Langman said they won't be changing their style of play and will be hoping to further develop the pattern they played at the world championships.
"Regardles of whose out there it will be an expansive style of game..we know the flow won't be there all the time but we need to work through those sticky patches," Langman said.
