A man has been arrested after assaulting a store worker in Tauranga earlier this month.
Police said the aggravated robbery took place at a commercial property on Cameron Road in Tauranga around 3:30pm on 8 April.
A man was alleged to have pulled out a weapon and assaulted a worker before stealing items and fleeing.
The worker was injured in the process.
Following an investigation, police said a 34-year-old was arrested on Saturday and charged in relation to the incident.
He is expected to appear in Tauranga District Court on Monday.
"Police hope this arrest provides reassurance to the community that we work hard to hold offenders to account," a police spokesperson said.
