A man involved in yesterday's hit and run in Christchurch, which led to the death of a homeless man, has appeared in court today.
Marcel Sydney Geros was one of two people taken into custody after two police chases in New Brighton, although he is not thought to have been in the van involved in the fatal crash.
The 27-year-old fisherman from Avonhead appeared in Christchurch District Court charged with unlawfully entering a car.
Mr Geros was remanded in custody until 13 August.
The second person arrested by police yesterday is yet to appear in court.
Police are still searching for a third man involved in yesterday's incident.
