Three West Papuans charged with treason will be questioned in an Indonesian court today.
Yanto Awerkion, Sem Asso, and Edo Dogopia were arrested last year when authorities seized the Timika secretariat of the West Papua National Committee.
They were detained in January and charged over their planning of a public meeting.
A lawyer for the men, Veronica Koman, said prosuectors failed to bring witnesses to a hearing last Thursday but produced a witness statement.
During the same hearing, four witnesses for the defendants testified the event the men were arrested over was a traditional gathering.
The defendants will today be questioned at Timika district court in Papua.
