Wool prices have eased for the third week running after a slight drop in demand and a stronger New Zealand dollar.
Exporter New Zealand Wool Services International says prices were up to 4% cheaper at this week's North and South Island wool sale compared with a week ago.
It believes that the market is consolidating at a level slightly below the large gains made in March.
Fine crossbred fleece and shears eased between 1.5% and 3% while the lambs fleece price was between 1% and 4% lower.
Good style coarse carpet type fleece was firm, whle poorer styles eased by up to 3%.
Next week's sale has been cancelled due to lack of wool for auction.
