A woman has been charged with murder in relation to the death of Gisborne man Wayne Tamahori Dewes in October.
A homicide investigation was launched after the 67-year-old was found with severe injuries at a home in Tolerton Avenue at 4.20am on 28 October.
He was rushed to hospital but died a short time later.
A 27-year-old woman has now been charged with murder and will appear in Gisborne District Court on Monday.
"We are pleased to have made an arrest in this case, and hope it brings some sense of reassurance to whānau and the wider community," Eastern District Police Detective Inspector David de Lange said.
He passed on his thanks to those members of the public who came forward with information.
