Security guards will remain at Clovelly Road in Manukau all weekend after significant developments in an ongoing land shift there.
New land movement was noticed on Friday, after a night of heavy wind and rain.
More of the condemned home of former Manukau Mayor Sir Barry Curtis has now collapsed and the lawn has dropped almost another two metres.
Manukau City Council says the new shift is a sign of continuing unpredictability and it expects the area to eventually collapse.
Geo-technical advisors will return to the site on Monday.
