A crew member from a cargo ship has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after an incident at Ports of Auckland.

Emergency services were called to Fergusson Wharf about half 7.30am.
Maritime New Zealand will be investigating the incident.
Principal investigator Tracy Phillips said its staff would be at the scene establishing what happened.
