The company has unveiled its board of directors, should an initial public offering (IPO) proceed later this year.

Its chair Brad Horwitz said as part of its IPO preparations it had undergone a rigourous process to identify an outstanding team for the future.

Among the seven members confirmed were Kathryn Mitchell, Ken Tunnicliffe, Mark Cairns, Meg Matthews, Brad Horwitz, John Stanton and Erick Mickels.

They all have a mix of experience in telecommunications, finance and accounting sectors.

The board would be led by independent chair-elect Mark Cairns who previously served as chief executive of Port of Tauranga.

"We are all well aligned in terms of vision and values, and the strong and diverse voices around this highly experienced table will bring rigour to our decision making," Cairns said.

2degrees chief executive Mark Aue said he was excited with starting a new era of the business with a board of this calibre.

Australian media had reported that 2degrees was looking to raise about $1.5 billion through an IPO.
