Police have rejected a complaint of alleged bribery laid over an email sent out by a local body election group in Auckland.
The centre-right Citizens and Ratepayers group laid the complaint following an email from the rival Shore Voice ticket, that included a link to a prize draw.
North Shore police say the allegation fell considerably short of a breach of electoral rules.
At the time of the allegation, Shore Voice said it had used a commercial email marketing company which had added its own prize draw to the message from the election group.
