Police in Taupo have confirmed they will charge a Wellington man over the death of a girl at Lake Taupo in January.
Genevieve Lewis, aged nine, was fatally injured when she was run over by a boat while waterskiiing on the lake.
Detective Senior Sergeant Todd Pearce says the man, 33, will face a charge under the Maritime Transport Act of dangerous activity in a boat casuing unneccessary danger to others.
He is due to appear at the Taupo District Court on Tuesday morning.
