Coup report by New Zealand officers still not with Fiji police

06:14 am on 17 February 2004

A report by two senior New Zealand police officers, who conducted a review of coup investigations in Fiji, is yet to reach Fiji police.

The report was expected to be submitted to Fiji's police commissioner, Andrew Hughes, two weeks ago.

Mr Hughes says he is under pressure to release the findings of the report, which will determine what action will be taken against those implicated in the coup.

A spokesperson for the New Zealand police, Sarah Martin, says the report is expected to arrive in Fiji this week.
