Parliament is sitting under extended hours to consider two Treaty of Waitangi settlement bills.
The Hineuru Claims Settlement Bill will provide cultural and commerical redress for the east North Island iwi.
The Ngāruahine Claims Settlement Bill includes an extended apology for the wrongful actions of the Crown against the Taranaki-based iwi.
Ngāruahine would receive cultural and commercial redress as part of the settlement.
