A business leader on Norfolk Island says the Territories Minister, John McVeigh, should meet with peak bodies on the island.

Mr McVeigh is on a two day visit and has been greeted by protests over Canberra's reforms which began on Norfolk two years ago.

The head of the Accommodation and Tourism Association, Rael Donde, said Mr McVeigh is meeting with a hand-picked group of people and ignoring the major organsations on the island.

"The Norfolk Island People for Democracy for instance has probably over 70 percent of all adult residents on the island as members. Chamber of Commmerce represents a significant number of businesses on the island and the Accommodation and Tourism Association represents most of the tourist accommodation on the island. So even if there are political differences it is still incumbent on the minister to hear these differences." Rael Donde.
