Major sponsors walk away from Storm

06:46 am on 24 April 2010

The financial survival of the Melbourne Storm's financial survival is in serious doubt with the club's major sponsors pulling out.

ME Bank and the superannuation fund HOSTPLUS say they're shocked and extremely disappointed the Storm breached the salary capped by nearly two million dollars over two years.

A fourth-tier sponsor, the sportswear company SKINS, has also withdrawn, saying they are appalled the Storm had not conducted themselves with "honesty, integrity and class".

The Storm have now removed ME Bank, HOSTPLUS and SKINS from their sponsors list and upgraded Suzuki and caravan provider Jayco as major sponsors.

Suzuki is set to meet with the club's board next week.
