People who may have caught measles from a man visiting Auckland could start to show symptoms from today, public health officials say.
The man was diagnosed with measles after participating in the Sky Tower Firefighter Stair Challenge last weekend.
A medical officer of health, Richard Hoskins, said people who may have been in contact with the man and who have not been vaccinated should isolate themselves at home until 7 June.
Dr Hoskins said that included everyone who took part in the stair challenge, or who visited the SkyCity Hotel and surrounding complex between 22 and 24 May.
He said anyone who had caught measles was likely to develop symptoms from this weekend. Early symptoms include fever, running nose, cough and sore eyes.
