A privacy breach by the National Archive has let people see records containing the sensitive health information of abuse survivors.

The breach discovered by Archives NZ in September has been kept from the public.

It was revealed in an OIA response about a series of separate, potential privacy breaches that have repeatedly shut down the malfunctioning main search system at Archives since February.

Reporter Phil Pennington has uncovered this.
