Lolo Matalasi Moliga has urged cabinet members, whose agencies are funded by grants, to keep in close contact with their federal grantor.

The Territory's governor issued an advance order outlining procedures as well as exempted services in the event of a US government shut down.

Mainland media was reporting that both sides in the US Congress are far from reaching any compromise for new funding before 8 February.

Speaking at a recent cabinet meeting, Lolo said if Congress doesn't come up with a viable budget solution another federal shutdown would occur.
