Nearly one in ten New Zealanders live with risk of tsunami

Almost one out of every ten New Zealanders is living with the risk of a tsunami.

New research conducted by the National Institute for Water and Atmospheric Research - or NIWA - has revealed both the population and the critical infrastructure located inside tsunami evacuation zones NIWA wants the information to be used by Civil Defence in planning for an emergency.
