A man found dead in rural Golden Bay has been named as Peter Michael Miller of Tākaka.
He was found at his property in Pigville Road, in Tākaka last week.
Police said the 40-year-old's death remained unexplained and enquiries into what occurred in the leadup to his death were continuing.
In a statement, his family said they were devastated to have lost a brother, son, uncle and friend in Miller.
"His life had been wonderful and full of adventure, and there was so much more he had to offer his family and community."
The family has requested privacy.
