A man has been charged with murder following the death of another man in South Taranaki's Pātea on Saturday morning.
It had been described by police as a "family harm incident".
Police were called to a house on Dorset St shortly before 9am on Saturday and found a 60-year-old man critically injured.
The man died at the scene.
A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene, a police spokesperson said, and had since been charged with murder.
The man will appear in New Plymouth District Court on Monday.
A scene examination at the house is ongoing, the spokesperson said and would likely be finished on Monday.
The spokesperson said police still want to hear from anyone with relevant information to the incident by calling 105.
