The New Zealand Herald has the headline 'Heartbreak in the Rubble' and recounts the story of a Christchurch shopkeeper and her son who ran for their lives from their crumbling store as a big aftershock struck on Monday afternoon.
The anguish of Rose and Myles Lennon is pictured as they later watched their shop being demolished.
Dominion Post
The Dominion Post quotes Prime Minister John Key who says it will take almost a year to fix the 100,000 houses that have been damaged by Saturday's earthquake.
The paper also carries a story about an entrepreneurial Darfield resident who is selling a piece of tarseal from the quake's epicentre on Trade Me to raise funds for the Red Cross.
