About 400 Samoan seafarers - mostly cruise ship workers - are stranded on several ships in the Caribbean, and want help from the New Zealand government to get them home.

The workers are currently employed on 17 different cruise liners - most of which are anchored off the Miami coast - which were all forced to stop operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

FIRST Union in New Zealand is helping their Samoan counterparts to try to get the workers home safely, and its President, Robert Reid, spoke to Sela Jane Hopgood.
