Four wins for NZ athletes in Sydney

New Zealand athletes have had a successful night at the Sydney Track Classic where the Olympic and world champion Valerie Adams won the shotput with her best throw of the year.

Her winning throw of 20.55 metres was nearly five metres ahead of her nearest competitor, Margaret Satupai of Samoa, but short of her New Zealand national record of 21.07 metres.

New Zealand runners won both 4 x 400 metre relays with Kristie Baillie, Hazel Bowering-Scott, Angela Smit and Abigail Watson setting a new national record of three minutes 45.27 seconds.

Scott Burch, Tyler Collings, Alex Jordan and Andrew Whyte won the mens' 4 by 400 in three minutes 10.74 seconds and Elizabeth Lamb cleared 1.82 metres to win the high jump.
