Two men suspected of being the linchpins in methamphetamine trafficking into Southland have been arrested.

Police on Thursday morning arrested a Hamilton man who previously lived in Invercargill and a man living in Auckland.

Both later appeared in court charged with methamphetamine supply.

The police said the operation has taken up to $200,000 worth of the drug out of the Invercargill market.
