Three men, reportedly two Australian and one British, were rescued by a cruise ship near New Caledonia yesterday as their yacht began to sink.

The Pacific Dawn led the rescue operation after Marine rescue authorities in Noumea asked it to divert from its path to assist the three men.

The ABC reported the men were found adrift in a life raft close to their abandoned vessel.
