A regional forum for Oceania on marine managed areas and world heritage called Our Sea of Islands will be held in
Honolulu from 29 January to 02 February
The forum, which is organised by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and UNESCO, hopes to provide an opportunity for Pacific island leaders to demonstrate their commitment to marine conservation.
The Honolulu Advertiser reports that delegates from over 20 Pacific nations, including the United States, Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa and the Federated States of Micronesia will come together to enhance marine protected areas.
