Watch: RNZ's new Saturday Morning programme, hosted by Mihingarangi Forbes and Susie Ferguson

16:39 pm on 30 August 2024

Saturday Morning, a popular RNZ programme, debuts with an updated format this weekend.

Multi-award winning journalist Mihingarangi Forbes joins the show as co-host, alongside RNZ legend Susie Ferguson.

Their first show is a live broadcast from Tūranga, the Christchurch library, where the Word Festival is on.

The programme now starts at 7am, and features in-depth interviews, current affairs and news across a broad range of topics. This week, the show features live coverage from Ngāruawāhia where the late Māori king is being mourned, as well as insights and expert analysis from guests on the significance of his death.

Listen live on RNZ National, stream via rnz.co.nz or pick out your favourite interviews from the podcast feed.

The updated programme also now features video interviews with interesting people published on YouTube and across social media channels.

* As a result of the extended Saturday Morning timeslot, rural New Zealand mainstay Country Life will move forward one hour to 6am. Other timings for Country Life remain the same - a new episode will be released every Friday on podcast apps, and on RNZ National on Fridays at 7pm.
