The husband of a woman who vanished more than a year ago and whose remains have now been discovered has attended a blessing at the place where they were found.
Bones found in Totaravale Reserve on the North Shore a week ago have been identified as those of Cissy Chen, who disappeared from her Torbay home on Guy Fawke's night, 2012.
Local kaumatua did two blessings at the reserve on Tuesday morning, and Ms Chen's husband, Jack Liu, was among those attending both.
Police say they know of no connection she had with the reserve.
Detectives plan re-interview people spoken to in their initial inquiry but police won't say if Mr Liu is a suspect.
Ms Chen's body is to be returned to China.
