Auckland Transport has been accused of going rogue after it published its draft 10-year budget plan.

The Greater Auckland transport blog was the first to notice huge cuts to funding for cycling, walking and rail.

Matt Lowrie runs the Greater Auckland blog and tells Jesse he hopes the transport plan will be much improved before it is voted in place in July.

Auckland Council stresses the plan criticised by Matt Lowrie is a first draft that will be subject to change.

It says the drop in funding for cycling coincides with the end of the council's previous Long Term Plan.
