Ōhaupō Road in Hamilton City was blocked following a single-vehicle crash, but has since reopened.
Police were called to Braemar Hospital on Ōhaupō Road just after 4.30pm after receiving a report a car had crashed into the hospital's fence.
One person has serious injuries and emergency services are responding at the scene.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
