The police in Christchurch are investigating an incident in which a man is believed to have been driven around the city and assaulted for five hours.
The 32-year-old victim was stabbed in the leg and abandoned at the end of the ordeal. He needed hospital treatment for his injuries.
In connection with the assault the police are looking for Tasi Selini, 29, Polynesian, 177cm tall and of medium build.
They say he is unpredictable, has access to weapons and should not be approached.
