Nearly 700 properties, mainly in the Taihape area, are still without power following last week's storm.
PowerCo said about 200 crew were focusing on reconnecting the homes in remote areas such as Waiouru and near Kimbolton, but wild winds and snow have made access difficult.
It said it would be making a big push to get everyone reconnected before more wind and rain which was expected to hit tomorrow night.
